Cars. It's not a game of cards...

Psalm 20 was a timely reminder of our need and dependence on the grace of God.

Verses 1-5 of that passage say: "1 May the LORDanswer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob protect you!2 May he send you help from the sanctuary and give you support from Zion! 3 May he remember all your offerings and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices! Selah 4 May he grant you your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans! 5 May we shout for joy over your salvation, and in the name of our God set up our banners! May the LORD fulfill all your petitions! "

These are comforting words when the world feels like it's spinning faster at a more severe tilt. This morning everything was going well... lunch packed and breakfast made. I was just about to wish Stephen a good day when his car wouldn't start. Jumping it did no good... so he's researching potential starters of this problem in his free time today. After we put in a call to his work I drove him up to work.

Are we down to one car? I don't know. No, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world... we may actually get some more quality time together. One thing this incident has definitely done is to remind me of the fragility of life and to make me question where I focus.
